Stir well before using. Discard if lumpy, jelled, stringy or thickened. DO NOT THIN CEMENT. This is for PVC pipe or for PVC plastic only. Use within 3 years of date stamped on bottom of can.
Use adequate applicator at least 1/2 size of pipe diameter – dauber, brush, roller or swab.
Apply Christy’s® Primer according to directions on primer can. Uniform Plumbing Code requires the use of a purple primer. COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING STEPS WITHIN THIRTY SECONDS.
Apply a full even coat to outside male end of pipe equal to socket depth. Apply a moderate coat to inside of fitting. Avoid excess puddling – Do not allow cement to run down inside of barrel of pipe, fitting or bell end. Re-apply to male end of pipe only. Cement should fill all gaps.
Assemble quickly while cement is wet. Use force and rotate 1/8 to 1/4 turn – Make sure pipe end bottoms into fitting socket. Hold for about 30 seconds, to allow joint to set. Wipe off excess cement.
Allow 15 minutes for good handling strength. Full joint strength should be reached within 24 hours. For cold temperatures (below 60ºF) or pipe diameters 4 ”or larger, allow longer cure time. See Installation Guide for Set and Cure Time Chart and additional information.
